Let me tell you: attending Mets Spring Training is an experience. It’s not just about baseball—it’s about the vibes, the energy, the fans, and the unforgettable memories you take home with you.
When I went, I made sure to represent in style. I wore this absolutely chic pink Mets hat, and let me tell you, heads turned. Everywhere I walked, people were like, “Woah, that hat is amazing!” Of course, I stuck to the team colors too—big blue and bright orange. My outfit? A bold orange shirt with a blue skirt. A fashion-forward Mets statement, if I do say so myself.
As we walked into the stadium, something wild happened: we saw a professional face painter! I couldn’t resist. I got my face painted with a heart-shaped baseball outlined in—you guessed it—blue and orange. It was next-level Mets pride.
But here’s the twist: we went to JetBlue Park. That’s the Red Sox’s stadium! (To be fair, the Mets were playing there, so it wasn’t totally our fault.) We tried our hardest to get a Mets player to throw us a ball, but no luck at first.
Then—brace yourself—Starling Marte spotted me. He must’ve sensed my massive Mets energy because he walked over and flipped me a ball. I nearly screamed. Okay, I did scream. It was amazing.
But wait, it gets better.
You know Mendy? Carlos Mendoza, the Mets’ legendary new manager and soon-to-be Coach of the Year? He was running out of the tunnel, and I put my hand out for a fist bump just in case—and he bumped me back. Carlos. Mendoza. Fist. Bump. My life was made.
At that point, I was riding a high of pure Mets magic. But I was also starving. So I grabbed some Dippin’ Dots and a Sprite, the official combo of baseball happiness. And can we talk about the weather for a second? It was scorching hot, even in February. Like, “am I in Arizona or Florida or the sun?” hot.
Oh, and we saw Alex Bregman warming up. No big deal.
On my way out, I had a little mishap—I spilled my entire water bottle and got soaking wet. But honestly? It felt refreshing. It was that hot.
And even the trip home kept the Mets magic going. On the plane, I sat next to another Mets fan. We chatted all about the team like old friends. Then at the airport, I met a super sweet girl who was also decked out in blue and orange.
Mets Spring Training? 10/10 recommend. Next time, I might even wear a neon orange Mets jumpsuit. You never know what magic might happen.
